Today’s show didn’t happen due to technical difficulties – I’m told that the surrounding area lost power, thus eliminating internet on QU’s campus as well as the off-campus transmitter. Frustrating, but out of our control.
The next new show will be in two weeks – but stay posted to the Left of the Dial site for some bonus material later today.

I will be on from 9 – 10 AM on Saturday mornings this semester, but I will also be broadcasting a “pre show” each week during the 8:00 hour playing some things you won’t hear during the main show. Check in around 8:30 tomorrow and be sure to call or IM with your requests!

Left of the Dial will be off the air this morning (4/12) or next Saturday (4/19) while I’m in New Orleans.

Earlier this week I stumbled upon Muxtape, a new site that lets users upload 12 MP3s to create their own streamable mix that you can listen to right from your internet browser. Once I saw the potential in making a Muxtape, I decided to start one for Left of the Dial.
So I’m pleased to announce the first edition of the Left of the Dial Muxtape! I picked out twelve tracks from yesterday’s show to share with all of you, so even if you missed the show you can still hear some of the songs I played.
If you start your own Muxtape, let me know about it. Until then, I’m going to keep thinking of ways I can use this for my own purpose.

This one’s a surprise to me. I’m sitting outside a locked-up WQAQ on a almost deserted QU campus. Evidently the station is closed for the Easter weekend.
I’m dissapointed because I had lots of new music to play this morning (not to mention I’ve had one music show this semester).
I apologize for the absence again. Entertain yourselves this Saturday morning by reading my blog Goodnight to the Rock & Roll Era or by looking for music on The Hype Machine.

Quinnipiac is on Spring Break and WQAQ will be off air the next two weekends.
Left of the Dial will return on Saturday, March 22.

Tomorrow morning at 11:00 AM Left of the Dial will air my interview with photographer Autumn de Wilde, author of the book Elliott Smith. We discuss Elliott’s legacy, photography, movies, music, and plenty of other topics.
Interspersed during the hour will be some of Elliott’s songs as well as others related to our conversation. I hope that you find it fascinating, compelling listening!
